Just went and saw Moonfall last night. SPOILERS

SPOILERS:

Through much of the latter part of the movie all I could do was think, this is Mutineers Moon. I mean, not exactly, but dang! There are obviously a LOT of ideas drawn from MM...

Just from the Teasers and the Trailers I saw I've been wondering too if most of it was not Muntineers Moon inspired and if RFC was involved or mentionned.

D.Weber wasn't the first who thought of a story with the moon as an ancient weapon/starship.

The oldest case I know of would be the manga "Outlanders" from J.Manabe, 1985-1987

(Mutineers Moon was 1991 iirc)

It isn't just the premise, but the Moonfall film seems to steal some story ideas from the novels by mister Weber as well. When I was watching it I found myself constantly being reminded of moments from the books. Another thing that bothered me was the lack of trauma exhibited by the characters to the apocalypse they had just experienced. Bad film making at its worst.

Vol 6 of the Dark Horse Omnibus edition - the moon gets activated, destroys the invader fleet and then crashes into earth at a later time in the same volume.
