I know this has probably been asked before, or is gauche or dumb to ask but I have a question. Its about mauve getting a friend into one of Mr. Weber's books.

Not like making my friend read them, but as a character or cameo.

Just some background:
This is a friend of my father's. They are both ex air force. I myself am ex army. All of us have a life long love of science fiction. They introduced me to the honorverse after I left the army in 2004. They took me to Mile Hi Con to see him when he was a guest.

To make a long story short, 3 years ago my friend was diagnosed with glioblastoma grade 4. He recently went into hospice care. I don't know what to do, but I thought maybe I could get his name into an honorverse book as a permanent memory for me and my father. I wish I had tried earlier in case it could actually happen so my friend could have seen it.

Regards,
Patrick

I will try asking David, but I've been having a hard time getting in contact with him since he's busy writing.

That would be amazing, even if he says no.

Heard back from Sharon Weber; she'll bring it up with David.

Even just the possibility is worth it to me, since it brought a smile to my father's face.

Yes we did. She is truly an awesome person and so is David. I owe you and them so much more than I could ever pay back. Thank you!
