This actually leads to an interesting question for the astrophysics types. Current theories propose that up to 90% of the universe consists of dark matter (or dark energy, if we assume that matter is simply concentrated energy), or matter that cannot be directly observed because it does not reflect light.

Anything is possible, of course, but given our current understanding of physics, would it be possible in the future to develop the technology to harness and manipulate dark matter?

Latest experiments at LUX failed to detect any dark matter signal at all. The idea of WIMPs is kind of a crutch because we don't understand how the cosmos works. So far no one has found any kind of solid evidence for WIMPs. Basically they infer that dark matter/energy should exist because how galaxies behave and detected gravitational lensing of distant sources.

Anyway, if dark matter/energy exists it would need some kind of quantum leap of technology to be able to utilize it since by its very nature is extremely hard to interact with. And that means it may well be that harnessing it probably is a net loss energy wise.

Take this with a dose of healthy skepticism (not confirmed as a fifth force, but the data is confirmed as real--still interesting none the less).

Which kind of ties into this: https://www.quantamagazine.org/20160811 ... us-puzzle/
As hundreds of papers have pointed out since the proton radius puzzle was born in 2010, a shrinking of the proton in the presence of a muon would most likely signify the existence of a previously unknown fundamental force — one that acts between protons and muons, but not between protons and electrons.

Kyp Durron did that with the Sun Crusher, he still became a Jedi (in the real Star Wars not the fake Disney starwars)

Then he should go to the dark side of the force ... preferably yesterday or the day before. To be a Jedi does not fit with the fact to be a mass murderer. There is simply no excuse imaginable to willingly bring a star to explosion and kill millions or even billions of (intelligent) beings.

He was drinking the Dark Side kool aid at the time.

He got better.

Might want to get your facts right before you start spouting them out :P

Kyp Durron was a Jedi yes. But he was then corrupted by a Sith ghost, THEN took over the Sun Crusher by removing it from a super gas giant and went rampaging around on his mission of revenge.

IIRC he was only an apprentice Jedi at the time, which somehow made it okay. Personally, I think Stackpol's self insert had the right of it when he said he should go to prison.

Yeah he was only an apprentice at the time, but he was also pretty far ahead of the others in raw talent, but he just had all that rage from the years he spent as a slave that he was ripe pickings for the Sith ghost.

And I think the only reason the Jedi Academy accepted him back was the "well you were possessed, it's ok" excuse, cause the Jedi were always sort of above the laws of lesser mortals throughout every bit of Star Wars, pre-Disney lore.
