As always, YMMV

When was the RMN in an actual war that lasted long enough for them to be using BCs to raid commerce and infrastructure anyway? Everything I remember was short campaigns or single battles the RMN versus pirates or mercenaries neither of which would be likely to have military infrastructure or commerce to target

Just go back to the text--when Honor took command of Nike, there is a bit on the role of the BC in RMN service. It is also referenced in HoS in the description of the role of the battlecruiser as a type. We don't see any of this during the Havenite Wars primarily because Nike was attached to a Task Group at Hancock, instead of a raiding squadron-- and the next times we see BC's, their Agammemnons and Nikes under Henke, AFTER the first bout of warfare is over.

I seem to recall mention of raids in the meantime, and you will see at least a bit of evidence of that not only in the type descriptions in HOS for heavy cruisers and battlecruisers, but also in the mission types and requirements given for GSN cruisers and battlecruisers.

Regards. Also, thanks Vince, for the quote above.
