Though not part of our Honorverse, I thought y'all would like to know that Leonard Nimoy passed today. Even though the Trek universe has alot more goofy physics in it, he played a very noble character and I wanted to pay a bit of tribute here

Thanks for the memories.

I am numb with shock and grief.

Godspeed, dear friend.

He will be missed. He quite literally became the face for SF and the adventures 'out there', with all the alienness in a rather 'human' package.

Most sad news.

ETA: Over at Deviant Art there are hundreds of picture tributes.

But for military SF fans such as we, this is the best one, IMHO: Image

We emailed all the time. I have not had a reply nor seen a post on this forum in MANY months. He had very serious heart complications about a year&half ago and was able to come back for a while, though it was obvious he had some mental damage caused. A common side effect of an oxygen starved brain due to heart complications.

I figured this thread was an appropriate place to post this news. It would hit namelessfly's "humor" button.

Oh man.

My grandfather survived two serious heart attacks 40 years ago and has never been the same since. I know how mental damage sounds like - how could I miss than?
