console video game idea (sports)

just throwing out a few thoughts about a space based honorverse console video game.


some guys love their space sims and some guys love their sports games why not a space sim with football game elements some might scoff at the idea but look how well blitzball did in the rpg game final fantasy 10.
1 space sim with some football game elements ie; a roster,possible skirmish board type moves ie; fleet battle formations and attack patterns,card caption with/without background, strengths weaknesses info
2 play a defined role either a pirate,naval officer,smuggler freighter captain. Based out of a home system silesian pirate havenite naval officer, solarian smuggler etc. with an origin story for each
3 an upgrade system based on experience points and or money
4 a title that goes along with your level and experience medals etc.
ive never played the honorverse game not my forte boardgames and text games never captured my affection or enthusiasm but video games different story.

just some thoughts to run with or fantasize about

First, are you aware of the tabletop miniatures game from Ad Astra based on the Honorverse?

There have been at least two attempts at licensed online Honorverse games which have failed. Neither one actually reached alpha-testing stage.

There is a fan-based attempt to create a game, as well. It, too, was abandoned.

There is now an Honorverse game for mobile devices, called Tales of Honor: the Secret Fleet. It is part of the promotion effort by Evergreen Studios leading to an Honorverse movie (though they are considering switching to a TV series).
