Who am I??
Tom Theisman: Now Harrington is caught Ransom knew her at a glance. The officer Ransom's found, Honor could be my chance. Why should I save her hide? Why should I right his wrong? When I have come so far, And struggled for so long. If I speak, I am condemned, If I stay silent I am damned. I am an Officer of Haven's Republic her people are mine Can I abandon them how will they live If I am confined? If I speak, I am condemned, If I stay silent I am damned. who am I, can I condemn Honor to slavery pretend I do not feel her agony? this officer of Manticore who like me wants to end this war? who am I? can I conceal myself forever more pretend I'm not the man I was before? and must my name until I die, be no more than an alibi, must I lie? how can I ever face my dear Haven how can I ever serve her Fleet again? my soul belongs to God I know, I made that bargain long ago he gave me hope when hope was gone he gave me strength to carry on who am I, I'm Tom Theisman And so, my officers and crew, This woman's as guilty as you! Who am I? Who am I THEISMAN OF HAVEN!! |

The Confrontation" Theisman and Ransom
Ransom Captain, at last, We see each other plain "Citizen Theisman", You'll wear a different chain. Theisman Before you say another word, Ransom Before you force me to engage again Listen to me! There is something I must do. This Manty leaves behind a suffering crew. There is none but me who can intercede, In Mercy's name, three days are all I need. Then I'll return, I pledge my word. Then I'll return... Ransom You must think me mad! You are sworn to serve us now But men like you can never change A man... such as you... Ransom (in counterpoint) Men like me can never change Men like you can never change No, Citizen, My duty's to Haven You have no rights Come with me Admiral Theisman Now the wheel has turned around Tom Theisman is nothing now Dare you talk to me of crime And the price you had to pay Haven's fleet is born to serve Every man must choose his way You know nothing of Ransom I was born with Prolist scum I was born with scum like you I am from the gutter too! Theisman(in counterpoint) Believe of me what you will There is a duty that I'm sworn to do You know nothing of my life All I did was aid her cause! You know nothing of the world You would rather see me dead But not before I see this justice done I am warning you Ransom I will see this duty done! There is power in me yet My race is not yet run I am warning you Ransom There is nothing I won't do If I have to kill you here I'll do what must be done! Theisman turns to a wounded Honor, beaten and abused by the Tepes officers. Theisman And this I swear to you tonight Ransom There is no place for you to hide Theisman Your crew will live within my care Ransom Wherever you may hide away Theisman And I will get them safely home Both I swear to you, I will be there! |

"In my life"
(Eloise and Theisman, Honor and LaFollet) Haven... Eloise: How strange This feeling that our Haven's begun at last This change, Can alliances really be formed so fast? What's the matter with you, 'Loise? Have you been too much on your own? So many things unclear So many things unknown. In my life There are so many questions and answers That somehow seem wrong... In my life There are times when I catch in the silence The sigh of a faraway song And it sings Of the Grand Alliance that I see Out of reach And Tom Theisman is there, Waiting for me. Does he know I'm alive? Do I know if he's real? Does he see what I saw? Does he feel what I feel? In my life I'm no longer alone Now the love in my life Is so near Find me now, find me here! Theisman (imagining Eloise as the RoH restored): Dear Haven, You're battered and alone How pensive, how sad you seem to me Believe me, were it within my power I'd fill each passing hour How quiet it must be, I can see With only me for company. Eloise: There's so little I know That I'm longing to know Of the nation that was In a time long ago... There's so little you say Of the Haven you've known Why you keep to yourself Why we're always alone So dark! So dark and deep... The secrets that you keep! In my life There is no longer peace and I yearn For the truth that you know Of the years... years ago! Theisman You will learn Truth is given by God To us all in our time In our turn... On Hell... LaFollett (to Honor) In my life She has burst like the music of angels The light of the sun. And my life Seems to stop as if something is over And something has scarcely begun Steadholder, you're the friend that has brought me here Thanks to you, I am one with the gods and victory's near And I soar through a world that is new that is free Honor: [to herself, thinking of her last conversation with Admiral White Haven] Every word my Lord said is a dagger in me. In my life There's been no one like him anywhere Anywhere, where he is If he asked... I'd be his... LaFollet and Honor: In my life... There is someone who touches my life. Honor: Waiting near... LaFollet: Waiting here... "A Grand Alliance"-A Heart full of Love Elizabeth and Eloise Elizabeth III A Grand Alliance. A new day, a song. Im doing everything all wrong. Oh God, for shame, I do not even know your name. Ma'am President, Won't you say? Will you tell? Eloise: Grand Alliance. No fear... No regret! Elizabeth: My name is Elizabeth III Eloise Eloise Prichart! Elizabeth: Eloise! ... I don't know what to say. Elizabeth: Then make no sound Eloise: I am lost... Elizabeth: I am found... Eloise: Haven, Manticore Both: A night bright as day! Elizabeth: Our Alliance must not sway 'Loise, 'Loise! Eloise: This is a chain we'll never break. Elizabeth: Do I dream? Eloise: I'm awake... Elizabeth: A Grand Alliance... Theisman: [Interjecting] She was never mine to lose... Eloise and Elizabeth: New hope, and new life Theisman: Elizabeth: Why regret what could not be? A single look and then I knew... Eloise: I knew it too! Theisman: These are words Haven can't say... Not to me... Elizabeth: From today... Theisman: Not to me... Not for me... Eloise: Everyday... Theisman: Elizabeth and Eloise: This New Alliance... For it isn't a dream... She will never feel this way! Not a dream after all! |

Honor:
What have I done, sweet Tester, what have I done, become a killer of men, become a 'cat on the run Have I fallen so far, are these charges so great, that nothing remains but the cry of my hate? the cries in the dark that nobody hears here where I stand at the turning of the years! Theisman: If there's another way to go, I lost it many long years ago My love was futile, my war could not be won, the "People's Republic" murdered dearest Haven and they then left our Fleet up for dead, Just to keep the Committee's needs fed! Honor: Yet why have I allowed this Peep To keep me safe and help me live? He treated me like any other, He gave me his trust, he helped me live here, My life he claimed for God above? Can such things be? For I had come to fight this war, This war that has now wounded me. Take an Eye for an Eye! turn your heart into stone! Do your most sacred duty, the duty you've always known! Theisman: One word from Ransom, I'd be back, Fighting Manties, with heart most black I feel my guilt inside, a missile fired She told me that I have a soul! Honor: How does he know? How the Tester can move my life? Is there another way to go? Theisman/Honor I am reaching yet I fall, and the stars are closing in, As I stare into the void of this kind man from Haven of this young Manticoran I'll escape now from that world From the world of [I ]Harrington[/i] Tom Theisman Harrington Tom Theismanis nothing now! A new Alliance must begin!! |

Have faith in yourselves And don't be afraid Let's give 'em a screwing they'll never forget! This is where it begins! And if I should die in the fight to be free Where the fighting is hardest There will I be! Let them come if they dare! We'll be there! StateSec over Comms Prisoners of Cerberus listen to this! No one is coming to help you to fight! You're on your own You have no friends Give up! Your guns or die! Shannon/ Honor together Damn, their warnings Damn their lies! They will see new freedom rise! Honor's crew/ prisoners Damn, their warnings Damn their lies! They will see new freedom rise! |

"Drink with Me"
Honor Basilisk and Yeltsin's Star, LaFollet Hancock Station, Erewhon Others Thus the slaughter e'er goes on... Honor (raising her cocoa): Drink with me, to days gone by, (Shannon's people and Honor's crew joining in) And to our Allies to be! At the shrine of friendship, never say die, let the wine of friendship never go dry! Here's to you and here's to me! McKeon We've escaped the place called Hell, now our true test has begun! Our lives of the past mean little at all, For if we're destroyed, if they break through the wall, None will shed a tear for us. Honor (raising her cocoa): Drink with me, to days gone by, (Shannon's people and Honor's crew joining in) And to our Allies to be! At the shrine of friendship, never say die, let the wine of friendship never go dry! Here's to you and here's to me! Theisman (on Eloise/ his restored Haven) Do I care if I should die Now she goes across the sea? Life without Haven Means nothing at all. Would you weep, Haven, Should Tom Theisman fall? Will you weep, 'Loise, For me? |
