I see what you did there--still waiting to see if a Planet or a ship is called "Skylark" ;)

I'm going to be slightly smug and say I have SITS Ship Book 2:

http://store.genreconnections.com/shipbook-2-the-silesian-confederacy/

Which means I have basic info on the Andies. Likewise I have the Jaynes volume on Haven which has a bit more info than what's in the books:

http://store.genreconnections.com/jaynes-2-the-havenite-republican-navy/

Soooo, what do you think will be in it, based on what's in HoS?

Will BuNine bite the bullet and change the Andermani warship prefix from IANS to a more correct Seiner Majestät Schiff or SMS?

Will we find out how the MAlign corrupted Haven and how the "DuQuesne Plan" was hatched?

Mike. :D

Surely "Seiner Majestät Raumschiff". OF course, RunForCelery's humor might tell us that the first ship in that fleet was the Kapitan Mors (Captain Death; it's a literary reference to the first SF magazine ever, not to mention the author who coined the word "Raumschiff" (spaceship).)

1.5-5MT? Sounds like the original battleship tonnage bracket. None of Haven's battleships were built after Grayson joined the Alliance(IIRC, construction of those stopped long before that), so there should be at least two or three classes for you.

Could be. The Triumphant class BB was 4.5 mtons. What I'd really like is one very close to 1.5 mtons. (Since, as far as I can tell, the MtH table is giving acceleration for the smaller of each mass pair on a row)

Right now there's a gap from 0.9 mtons all the way 3.8 mtons with no example ship in it.

Anyway, beyond just the raw data on the ships (which admittedly I'll probably mine first) I'm looking forward to the story (whatever it is) and the greater backstory on Haven and its pre-conquestador naval history.

Now that would be fun!

I think we're all agreed that the novella will focus on Haven, but what if RFC threw us a curveball and had it focusing on the Andies instead? ;)

That would be fun, we know a lot less about them. Is the favorite food General Tso's Spätzle?

Why am I reminded of "Lotus X" from this film?

If you've seen it, you'll know what I mean. ;)

I read this, and said to myself:

"Self! Lets try this."

And the verdict is: Actually pretty darn good. I'd recommend it.

Nice. Good to get confirmation and recommendation; now I guess I'll have to make some to try.
