I think this song is perfect for Honor and Hamish at the start of their relationship:

It's hard for me to stop my heart
love never knows
when the time is right
I don't want to hurt
anybody but
can't help loving you
I never felt like this before
I know this is passion
worth waiting for
let love take take its course
that's the only thing
for us to do
We got time, oh baby,
there's no rush
gonna be a better
day for us
hang on
and I will
wait for you
our love will always stay as good as new
Time and tide
nothing and no one
can stop us now
for better for worse
this time I'm sure
it's gonna last
How can I stop my heart?
Love never knows
when the time is right
don't want to hurt
anybody
don't want to make them cry
don't want to make them cry
We've got time, oh baby
there's no rush
gonna be a better
day for us
hang on
and I will wait for you
Our love will always stay as good as...
new
It's a matter of time
only a matter of...
Time and tide
nothing and no one
can stop us now
for better for worse
this time I'm sure
it's gonna last
gonna last forever
We got time, oh baby
there's no rush
gonna be a better
day for us
hang on
and I will wait for you

I can't believe nobody has tried to re-make Charlie Daniels' "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" as "Honor Went Down To Hades".

I like that idea! Perhaps I'll do it, and change the beat a bit. So I can claim it as my own. lol

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

Disagree.

Adagio should be played at a funeral service for victims of war, thus picture 12 of the following http://www.emlii.com/145f0427/48-Dynami ... -Your-Soul

I think for the old Peoples Republic relationship with Honor a variation on 'The Cat Came Back', would be a good one.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lw2PgypoAaE

It could start out, "Now the old Peep Republic had troubles of it's own, had a mantie commander that would not leave them alone."

Unfortunately that is about all the song writing talent I have. :D

Summoning Gofy! Summoning Gofy!

On a more somber note, "May It Be" has always been a haunting lament for Haven lost.

"The 'Cat Came Back"
Or "The People's Republic and Honor Harrington"

The People's Republic had troubles of their own
A Manty and her 'cat who'd not leave them alone
We tried and they tried to get that 'cat to go away
We sent Coglin to Bas'lisk far away...

But the 'cat came back, the very next day
the 'cat came back, they thought they'd killed his Honor
but Nimitz came back, he and Honor couldn't stay away...

We sent a ship to Yeltsin to make the Queen concede
and end Grayson's hope for Manticore to help their needs
We pounded her whole task force, forced her ship quite far away,
we were 'bout to take the system and to seize the day...

But the 'cat came back, the very next day
the 'cat came back, they thought they'd killed his Honor
but Nimitz came back, he and Honor couldn't stay away...

Then we sent a fleet to Hancock, hitting harder than before,
to try and win the People a most short, victorious war,
Pavel Young scattered their squadron, we'd have shot the Manties dead...
Say what's with all those Dreadnoughts up ahead...

But the 'cat came back, the very next day
the 'cat came back, they thought they'd killed his Honor
but Nimitz came back, he and Honor couldn't stay away...

We sent more ships to Grayson to stop her in her tracks
Then Tom off to Selisia to beat the Manties back
But Honor and her Stinker went and made themselves a name
and Haven burned in the Salamander's flames...

The 'cat came back, the very next day
the 'cat came back, they thought they'd killed his Honor
but Nimitz came back, he and Honor couldn't stay away...

"Beyond the Stars (and far away)"

Manticoran version of "O'er the Hills and Far Away"

Hark now the calls echo again
for all true heroes, Mant'corans
So let us 'list and sail I say
Beyond the Stars and Far Away

Beyond the stars and o'er the main
To Grayson, Terra, and Haven
Our Queen commands and we obey
Beyond the stars and far away

Beyond the stars and o'er the main
To Grayson, Terra, and Haven
Our Queen commands and we obey
Beyond the stars and far away

Our home System's in dire need
So let us muster with all speed
We'll man the missiles here today
Beyond the stars and far away

Beyond the stars and o'er the main
To Grayson, Terra, and Haven
Our Queen commands and we obey
Beyond the stars and far away

No more the sound of war retreat
While White Haven and Honor beat
the Sollies and Mesans Every day
Beyond the stars and far away

Beyond the stars and o'er the main
To Grayson, Terra, and Haven
Our Queen commands and we obey
Beyond the stars and far away

There's honor and glory for the ones
The brave who volunteer to come
To enlist and fight the foe today
Beyond the stars and far away

Beyond the stars and o'er the main
To Grayson, Terra, and Haven
Our Queen commands and we obey
Beyond the stars and far away

When duty calls me I must go
To form up and to face the foe
But part of me will always stray
Beyond the stars and far away.

Beyond the stars and o'er the main
To Grayson, Terra, and Haven
Our Queen commands and we obey
Beyond the stars and far away

If I should fall to rise no more,
As many comrades did before,
Then ask the fifes and drums to play.
Beyond the stars and far away

Beyond the stars and o'er the main
To Grayson, Terra, and Haven
Our Queen commands and we obey
Beyond the stars and far away

Courage now, 'tis one to ten
that we return all Gentlemen
All gentlemen, who serve today
Beyond the Stars and Far Away

Beyond the stars and o'er the main
To Grayson, Terra, and Haven
Our Queen commands and we obey
Beyond the stars and far away

Then fall in lads let us now come
With missiles blazing like the sun.
Down Honor's path we ne'er shall stray
Beyond the stars and far away

Beyond the stars and o'er the main
To Grayson, Terra, and Haven
Our Queen commands and we obey
Beyond the stars and far away

For Miss Roseandheather:

"Hey There Eloise"
Hey There Delilah: Javier + Eloise

Hey there, Eloise
What's it like in Nouveau Paris
I am light-years away from you
But, my love you look so pretty
Yes, you do
Haven can't shine bright without you
I swear, it's true

Hey there, Eloise
Don't you worry about the distance
I'm right there if you get lonely
Give this song another listen
Close your eyes
Listen to my voice, it's my disguise
I'm by your side

Oh, it's what you do to me
Oh, for us, our Republic
Oh, it's what you do to me
Oh, my love, my Eloise
What you do to me

Hey there, Eloise
I know times are gettin' hard
But just believe me, My President
Someday I'll end this awful war
We'll have it good
We'll have the life we knew we would
My word is good

Hey there, Eloise
I've got so much left to say
If every simple song I wrote to you
Would take your breath away
I'd write it all
Even more in love with me you'd fall
We'd have it all

Oh, it's what you do to me
Oh, for us, our Republic
Oh, it's what you do to me
Oh, my love, my Eloise
What you do to me

Right now my fleet seems pretty far
But we've got cruisers and Dreadnoughts
I'd walk to you if I had no other way
Our friends would all make fun of us
And we'd just laugh along because we'd know
That none of them have felt this way
My 'Loise, I can promise you
That by the time this war is through
Our Haven will never ever be the same
And you're to blame

Hey there, Eloise
You be good, and don't you miss me
One last mission and I'll end this war
And re-write Haven's history like you do
You know it's all because of you
We can do whatever we want to
Hey there, Eloise, here's to you
This one's for you

Oh, it's what you do to me
Oh, for us, our Republic
Oh, it's what you do to me
Oh, my love, my Eloise
What you do to me
What you do to me,

oh oh, woah, woah
Oh woah, oh
Oh
