On Basilisk Station (Santos)
She muttered resentfully to herself, compromising between bile and naval propriety by cursing too softly for anyone else to hear. What the hell was Harrington's problem?!

I would imagine that most sailors learn to juggle bile.

An aside:
When I was a snotty nosed kid (yesterday) 'cursing' was what a wicked witch did to you, and 'cussing' represented the four-letter words that your mother threatened to wash out of your mouth with soap. Now they are used interchangeably, and it is odd to me.

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

"My Commander Harrington?"

Not yours the way she's going to be.

On Basilisk Station
"The Duke has asked me to tell you that Her Majesty's Government would find it most convenient if Lord Pavel Young is not on Basilisk Station for the next month."

Simply ... :D

Medusa tipped back in her chair, and Michelle strongly suspected that the baroness had just toed off her shoes underneath her desk.

Foreshadowing or just a happy coincidence?

Just Mike Henke being a little devious.

"I'm not only going to give the op force Mark 23s, Cindy," she said with a wicked smile. "I'm probably going to give it Apollo, too."

Oh, Oversteegen, you have no idea what's coming do you?

Followed by...

"I didn't do it just to be nasty, though. I mean, I did do it to be nasty, but that wasn't the only reason I did it."

Love the honesty. At least she admits that blindsiding Oversteegen with Mark-23s and Apollo during the sim was a bit of comeuppance.

I love Michael Oversteegen.

And I love him best when he's having his ears pinned to his head by a deviously clever Michelle Henke.

From MoH:

"Nothin'," he conceded disgustedly. "It just offends my sense of th' way things are supposed t' be, I suppose. I'd expect better thinkin' than that out of a plate of cottage cheese!"

Michael Oversteegen expressing his...disgust with the intelligence displayed by certain Solly officers. Sorry, Michael, it's not going to get any better.
