Ok, for you, a moment of silence rose.

Oh, she knew. Believe me, she knew. Because she would have died with his name on hers, too.

In a way it reminds me of Joe DiMaggio's famous final words: "I'll finally get to see Marilyn." I would not be at all surprised if hers were "I'll finally get to see Javier."

No. the League government is a graft-riddled, bureaucratic mess. However, the League government has very little power and very little impact on the lives of the overwhelming majority of League citizens.

Residents of League protectorates in the Verge are not citizens, and are another matter entirely, but the only reason the verge economies are of consequence is because the League cannot directly tax member worlds and can extract quite a lot from protectorates; I wouldn't be shocked if the GSPs of all the protectorates combined is somewhat smaller than the Sol system, alone.

Tugging at the heartstrings.
I didn't know what that reference was from rose. I had to look it up. I didn't know that. Informative posts. Tac-witches deliver. Shannon as tac-witch, oh the 'puters, err memories. Honor as tac-witch.

“Yet you’re still saying you believe we have no choice but to continue this war that Captain Gweon’s just demonstrated we’re probably going to lose. Is that correct, Fleet Admiral?”

When politics looks upon itself in the mirror, it sees a total stranger.

This really is getting off the one liner topic, but anywho, one has to wonder if Capt. Gweon is slanting his analysis, when one goes and looks at certain other scenes he is in.

I get that feeling as well, but in the opposite sense. I get the feeling that he's understating what he actually feels. After all he has to tread lightly with those idiots.

Given who he really works for, we can take it as pretty much certain that he's slanting his analysis. Exactly how he is... that's difficult to say.

He likely knows a lot more about the RMN and RHN than anyone else at SLN hq. But given how deep a hole the SLN finds itself in its not like he has to do anything underhanded to ensure they lose.

By his own admission to his co conspirators, he gives Kingsford good analysis. My guess is he's saved like O'Hanrahan for one big important lie, which he can shrug off as honest error.

Smells like the old stinkin' double thinkin' thinkin' tankin.' Anyway it's cut, the SLN is going to be sliced.

Whitecold's analysis is frightening. You're suggesting that Captain McGweon is playing all of them as Byng was being played to commit 'hari kari.' After blowing smoke up Byng's ass it was easy to push that baby chick into a stream of near pike. Saved like O'Hanrahan for one big important lie cues...Pink Panther music.

back from our sponsors...
Kolokoltsov nodded once again, lying back in his chair and thinking hard.
It’s a pity Rajani didn’t shoot himself months ago, he thought sourly. Of course, Kingsford probably would’ve shot from the hip, too, if he’d been in Rajani’s position and known what Rajani knew at the outset. Even if that’s true, though, he’s clearly a wiser and more cautious man these days. The question is, is he wise enough?
“All right, Fleet Admiral,” he said finally.
