"Oh, the Senior Chief doesn't do that anymore, Ma'am," Tremaine assured her. "His wife wouldn't like it."

I am really enjoying the Queen of Torch and her Court. Cthia's father ~ "Son, do not cater to the common belief that a person has to earn respect. That is not true. You should give every person respect right from the start. What a person has to earn is your continued respect!" |

Yes, it is accurate isn't it? And oh so...funny!
You gotta love the lectures Honor gives to opposing COs when she's got them by the balls. Every time even I experience a natural reflex action to swallow a lump in my throat! Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. I may be wrong, but these pesky little Hermes buoys have caused about as much distress as any missile or laser head. I can always hear the thoughts of the surprised CO... HTF are they doing that?!!! Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. I like all of the times that they do that to opposing COs as well. The whole scene where the Solly CO sits back in their comfy chair to wait the necessary transmission lag and then here comes the Manty response in about 1/100th the time. And one of the Sollies (I can't remember who) actually made the connection to how lethal they could be if they tied that FTL capability into their missiles' fire control and had a pretty good "Oh, crap" moment. *~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*

I have another from FoD from the most famous CFO in literature, Willard Neufsteiler:
I nice attempt on Weber's part to define a bit of Honor's "Nelson touch" and its effects on people. *~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*

I am really enjoying ART. To n7axw who pointed out that I had missed it...well, thank you...again. And you are right on another front, this is pretty much the all-in response I was looking for and the SLN's date with the Salamander! Darn good stuff! Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense |

How about this wham line from MoH:
That was a bit of an "Oh, crap" moment for me when I realized how deeply the MA has some of their sleepers. Although until CoG I didn't know if Audrey O'Hanrahan knew she was a Mesan "spy" or not. *~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*

Ok, here's another, from War of Honor, as Rafe Cardones bemoans losing his COLAC Captain:

No boom today. Boom tomorrow. There's always a boom tomorrow. What? Look, somebody's got to have some damn perspective around here! Boom. Sooner or later. BOOM! -LT. Cmdr. Susan Ivanova, Babylon 5 |

and one from The Short Victorious War, where Admiral Sarnow asks Lt. Cmdr. Webster for his impressions of his new Flag Captain, Honor Harrington:
Of course, as I mentioned in an earlier post, Lester Tourville says the same the same thing in only four words in War of Honor:
***********************************************
