Manticore has Saganami Island and its Tactical Simulator.

I don't recall any doppelganger mentioned in the League. Surely there is an equal. Is it mentioned somewhere? It'd be nice to get the POV of the SLN's War Room - such as it is. It may actually be far more advanced than the ships it manages.

Or, perhaps, the SLN doesn't have a "Pit" per se. Their War Room is the pits.

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

The probably use old established military academies like West Point, Annapolis, Sandhurst, St. Cyr, Frunze, and Cranwell.

I don't recall any mention of a SLN Tactical Simulator similar to the the one at SI/Crusher.

I don't think it would make much difference, because we do have textev that exercises are seldom failed because everyone gets a virtual "cheat-sheet" full of cheat-codes for a few well-rehearsed scenarios. It doesn't matter how good the graphics are if the only war-games they play are the equivalent of Asteroids and Centipede

Given the example of the "Fleet 2000" modifications to their ships, I wouldn't bet on it being "more advanced" but I would bet on it being "more impressive" -- in a sci-fi, space opera stage setting way. :D

Every time I come across Helen Zilwicki Sr. in the wiki, it hits me like a ton of bricks how much excitement we were prematurely cheated out of. I got a sixth sense of a tingling that Helen was a tactical giant.

A few battle intense stories from Helen's POV would be nice.

I like that even better, let's go with impressive.

Of course, we already know that the SLN uses the "Last Star Fighter" video games to pick officers.

Every time I think of this, I picture the new JJ Abrams Enterprise bridge - with more Chrome and lens flares!

It wasn't chrome, it was highly polished titanium. lol

You really think? That would only serve to soil West Point.

There would almost have to be some version of the "Pit." The SLN has so much area under its influence. At one point it wasn't the beer drinking gorilla it is now. And some graphical representation of League Space has to be a must. There may be cobwebs in it now, but I'd be disappointed and surprised if there didn't exist a War Room.

It's the StarTrek Verse - that would be tri-titanium. :)

I'd like the entire POV of Steadholder Owens talking Mateo into leaving the Maticoran Marines and joining the Steadholder Guard and becoming a bodyguard for Abigail. Is that somewhere in text?

I know what led to him to knowing no one else is better for the job, just not "the talk."
