Some solarian ones :
Once upon a time, it [bad news] had meant "This is irritating, and it's going to be bothersome to deal with." Now it meant "Oh my God, what now ?" (MOH, 31)
He’s worse than Daud ! (ART, 29)
You are so going to get all of us killed (ART, 29)

'Oh, oh' he said in English. Evidently, he had completely mastered that language.

"'I destroy my enemy when I make him my friend,'" White Haven quoted softly.

This is actually a nested one-liner, I suppose, since White Haven was actually quoting Abraham Lincoln.

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

"There's got to be at least some contact somewhere if they aren't going to lose their assets simply because someone dies before she gets around to telling her son or daughter 'Oh, by the way. We're actually secret agents for the Mesan Alignment. Here's your secret decoder kit. Be ready to be contacted by the Galactic Evil Overlord on Frequency X with orders to betray the society you've been raised all your life to think of as your own.'"

Eloise Pritchart with the sarcastic delivery FTW!

I am not quite sure I recall this one...or rather only vaguely so. Do tell from where it came!

...Captain Zemet of the GNS Francis Mueller, to be precise. The story is replete with one-liners – it was difficult to choose only one...

Is there a reason why you have to choose just one?
One-liners are like lays potato chips man...no one can eat just one!

Are you telling me there's plenty more one-liners floating about that may help pacify us all until the next book hits the shelves and you are holding out on us???

I say...off with his head!

No no no...

Walk the plank!!

No no no...

Out the airlock!!!

"I don't think that will be necessary, Exec," the captain panted. "Tempting . . . but no. We'll talk about a Captain's Mast tomorrow. For now, I'm going to go to my cabin and change my shorts. Make that a general order."
